Privacy Policy
The short version: Declare requires an account to function. We store your dating profile blocks. No third-party trackers, no model training on your content. Account deletion is immediate.
Account Required
Declare requires an account to function. Your account data (email and password) is stored securely.
What We Store
When you use Declare, we store:
- Profile - Your dating intent and alignment preferencesStored on our server. Kept until you delete it. Legal basis: contract (needed to run the service).
- Blocks - Profile blocks you create (content, tone, proof details)Stored on our server. Kept until you delete it. Legal basis: contract (needed to run the service).
- Photos - Photos you upload for the photo planner. Stored encrypted at rest.Stored on our server. Kept until you delete it. Legal basis: contract (needed to run the service).
- Share Links - Share links you create for friend feedback, plus the feedback collected through them.Stored on our server. Kept: 30 days after expiry. Legal basis: contract (needed to run the service).
- Exports - Record of when you exported your profile to dating platformsStored on our server. Kept: 90 days. Legal basis: contract (needed to run the service).
- Ai Requests - Record of AI tone-variant and block-suggestion requests, including the prompt text and response. Used for credit tracking, debugging, and abuse investigation. Not used for ad targeting and not opted into any model-training programme.Stored on our server. Kept: 90 days. Legal basis: contract (needed to run the service). Shared with: AI provider.
Account deletion is immediate
When you delete your account from Settings, your profile rows, blocks, photos, share links, and feedback are deleted from our database in the same request. There is no soft delete and no backup-rotation lag for your application data. See /trust for the verbatim AI no-fabrication clause and the full retention picture.
Local Storage
Some data is stored locally in your browser and never sent to our servers. localStorage persists across reloads and tabs until you clear it:
- theme - Light/dark mode preference
- declare-builder-tab - Last builder tab you opened (Profile or Photos)
- declare-builder-welcome-seen - First-run welcome modal dismissal flag
- declare-lint-dismissed- - Lint rules you have dismissed for a specific profile
You can clear this data anytime through your browser settings.
Cookies
We do not use cookies for tracking. We use localStorage to save preferences and sessionStorage during the sign-in process.
Analytics
We use our own privacy-focused analytics to collect minimal anonymous usage data:
- Page views - Which pages are visited (no personal data)
- Anonymous identifiers - A random visitor ID to count unique visitors (not linked to your identity)
- Error reports - Technical errors for debugging (no personal data)
We do not use third-party analytics services like Google Analytics.
Third Parties
We do not sell or share your data. The only external services we use are:
- Lotl AI (our own ai.lotlsoft.com endpoint; proxies to upstream large-language-model providers, the active provider can change over time, prompts not opted into model training)
Your Rights
You can:
- Access your data (view within the app)
- Correct your data (update profile in settings)
- Delete your data (from within the app)
- Withdraw consent (sign out and stop using the service)
